Grades K-5

Welcome BCSVA Elementary students! I look forward to getting to know you during the 2021-22 school year.

What does a School Counselor do?

School Counselors work to promote a culture of whole-person wellness, where our students succeed academically AND in life.  We work with students as a class, in small groups, or one-on-one to teach and practice social skills, study skills, goal-setting, and emotional regulation strategies.  Together, we will explore future career paths and community roles.

Why would a student meet with a School Counselor?

School Counselors offer a layer of support for students and families. Here some common reasons why a student works with a School Counselor: problem-solving (academic or social), resolving conflicts, managing transitions, grief or loss, strengthening coping skills, planning for academic success, and much more!
